Degree Options

Asheville Baptist Institute offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Theology. We operate as an independent institution and do not pursue state accreditation. The Bachelor’s program is completed over three years (six semesters), with each course carrying four credit hours and a total of 120 credit hours required for graduation. The Master’s program is completed over five years (ten semesters).

How does it work?

We operate on a rotational system, meaning that what serves as a first semester for one student may be the final semester for another. As a result, we offer two enrollment windows each year, allowing new students to begin during either period without concern about missing foundational material, since courses are not strictly sequential.

Semesters typically last 14 weeks, during which students receive five pre-recorded lectures per week, each about 30 minutes long. While students have the freedom to pace their study throughout the week, they are encouraged to stay current with each module.

Assessment is designed to reinforce learning without being overwhelming. Most lectures are followed by brief quizzes, and periodic tests review recent material in a similar format. Each semester concludes with a comprehensive final exam, and some courses may include a short paper of about 1,000 words as a final assignment. Quizzes and tests are generally due within one week, while finals and written assignments allow for a longer submission window. This approach provides both structure and flexibility, helping students stay engaged while managing their responsibilities effectively.
